For a San Francisco everyone can afford
The SF Board of Supervisors will soon vote to make it easier to build more housing in San Francisco. It’s time to take action and show our support.
Take Action
We've organized for years to put in place elected officials to address our housing crisis - and now it's time for them to act.
Teachers, nurses, and working people are being priced out of the communities they serve. The people who make San Francisco run can't afford to live here.

High costs are pushing families out of the City. Kids who grew up here can't afford to stay here as young adults. San Francisco is losing the next generation.

In 2024, SF issued the fewest housing permits per resident of any major California city. Our current rules make building financially impossible – and our city loses out.
The good news: we have a plan.
The hard part: we need at least six Supervisors to support it.

Housing champions Mayor Lurie and Supervisor Melgar have introduced legislation to increase funding for affordable housing, while making it cheaper to build housing for everyone. For the first time in years, we have both the tools and the political will. Now we need the votes.
Current requirements make most housing too expensive to build. The new ordinance makes it cheaper for builders.
A new Housing Trust Fund– money set aside, which will allow the City to build more housing AND protect affordability.

We've spent years organizing and electing leaders who will act on housing. This is a moment we've been building toward.
